Petroleum-derived polyurethane fiber. A 2025 study found underwear elastane contained BPA, BPS, and BPF at concentrations up to 52,967 ng/g. BPF migrates into sweat at 39.1%, BPS at 25.2% — actively leaching endocrine disruptors through the groin's thin, highly vascularized skin.
