Privacy Policy

The short version

Scout Health (Wise Concepts LLC, "Scout", "we") runs scouthealthapp.com. The website has no accounts and no login. We set no tracking cookies. Your cart lives only in your own browser. We use one analytics tool to understand how the site is used in aggregate, and we earn Amazon affiliate commissions on some outbound links. We do not sell personal information, show ads, or share data with data brokers. Scout is a US-focused service.

What we collect

• In your browser only: your cart and a random visitor ID are stored in your browser's localStorage. The cart never leaves your device.
• Analytics events: page views, searches, product views, cart adds, and outbound clicks, tied to that random visitor ID — not to a name or email (we don't have them). Our analytics provider (Mixpanel) processes your IP address to receive these events.
• Content you submit for analysis: if you paste a product link (or otherwise submit content) to be analyzed, it is sent to Scout's backend so we can run the analysis.
• Server logs: like nearly every website, our infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and debugging.
• Email: if you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you send.

What we use it for

To run the site, to understand in aggregate how it's used and what to improve, to analyze the products you ask about, to keep the site secure, to attribute affiliate purchases at an aggregate level, and to reply when you contact us. Nothing else.

No tracking cookies

We don't set tracking cookies. Analytics is configured to use localStorage instead, and the cart and visitor ID live there too. If you block or clear localStorage, the site keeps working — only the cart and analytics stop functioning.

Amazon affiliate links

Scout participates in the Amazon Associates program. Outbound Amazon links carry an affiliate tag and an attribution tag tied to your random visitor ID, so Amazon can report qualifying purchases back to us at an aggregate, attributed level. We never see your Amazon account or your purchase history beyond that Associates reporting. As an Amazon Associate, Scout earns from qualifying purchases.

Who processes data for us

We use a small set of infrastructure providers, each processing only what it needs to do its job:

• Netlify — website hosting and CDN
• Supabase — database
• Railway — API backend
• Mixpanel — analytics
• Amazon — affiliate program reporting

What we don't do

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not run ads. We do not share data with data brokers. We do not build cross-site profiles of you.

How long we keep things

The visitor ID and cart stay in your browser until you clear your browser data — that's under your control, not ours. Analytics events are kept only as long as they're useful for understanding how the site is used. Links you submit become part of our product-analysis records. Server logs are kept briefly for security and debugging, then discarded.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your US state, you may have the right to access or delete personal information. Email team@scouthealthapp.com and we'll honor access and deletion requests regardless of where you live, and we'll never treat you differently for asking. One honest caveat: because the site has no accounts, most of what we hold is tied only to a random browser ID, so in many cases we can't connect our data to you specifically. Clearing your browser's localStorage removes the ID on your end.

Children

Scout is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

The Scout iOS app

This policy covers the scouthealthapp.com website. The Scout iOS app is governed by this same policy and links here from inside the app; the app has its own optional account system.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with an updated effective date. Meaningful changes get a plain-English note at the top.
