Scout for ChatGPT and Claude

Ask your assistant about a product and get Scout’s independent 1–100 score, the flagged ingredients, published lab results and healthier swaps — the same analysis as scouthealthapp.com, with a link to the page behind every number. No account, no sign-in. Scores are Scout’s independent editorial opinion, for information only — not medical or nutritional advice (terms).

What it answers

  • The Scout score and verdict for a product, by name or barcode
  • The healthiest products in a category — protein powders, Greek yogurt, sunscreen, energy drinks…
  • Side-by-side comparisons and higher-scoring alternatives
  • What an ingredient or additive is and how Scout rates it
  • Scout-rated restaurants and what to order at major US chains

Try asking

  • “What does Scout score Poppi prebiotic soda?”
  • “Find the healthiest protein powders.”
  • “Compare Oatly and Califia oat milk — which is cleaner?”
  • “Is carrageenan something to avoid?”
  • “What should I order at Chipotle?”

Add Scout to Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Scout and paste https://scouthealthapp.com/mcp. No authentication is needed.
  3. Turn the connector on in a chat and ask about a product.

Works on claude.ai, the desktop and mobile apps, and Claude Code.

Use Scout in ChatGPT

Until Scout is listed in the ChatGPT plugin directory, add it as a custom server: open chatgpt.com/plugins, choose Add custom MCP server, paste https://scouthealthapp.com/mcp with no authentication, then mention @Scout Health in a chat.

For developers

Scout’s server speaks the Model Context Protocol over Streamable HTTP at https://scouthealthapp.com/mcp: stateless, unauthenticated, read-only. Any MCP client can use it.

Scores follow the published scoring methodology. Scout covers packaged food, drinks, supplements and personal care sold in the US, plus restaurant locations and chain menus.

Troubleshooting

  • “No Scout analysis found” — ask with the barcode, or the brand name alone, then pick from the matches. Scout covers packaged products sold in the US; fresh produce and home-cooked food aren’t scored.
  • “Analysis still in progress” — the product is in the database but not scored yet; open the linked page later.
  • Category or chain not recognised — the reply lists the closest categories, or every chain Scout scores.
  • “Temporarily unavailable” or “rate limited” — the database is briefly offline, or the per-address request limit was hit; ask again in a minute.
  • The connector won’t connect — the URL is exactly https://scouthealthapp.com/mcp with no authentication. Anything else: team@scouthealthapp.com.

Privacy

The connector needs no account, keeps no record of what you ask and builds no profile of you. Each request is answered from Scout’s own database — no cookies, no analytics. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, time and path) for a short period for security and abuse protection, and requests are counted per address for one minute at a time to stop scraping; when you use ChatGPT or Claude, that address is normally the assistant provider’s, not yours. The conversation itself stays with the assistant you use, under its own privacy terms. Details: privacy policy. Scout Health is made by Wise Concepts LLC. Questions: team@scouthealthapp.com.
