Fruit and Vegetable Juice Concentrate
What is Fruit and Vegetable Juice Concentrate?
Fruit and vegetable juice concentrates are made by removing the water content from whole fruit or vegetable juices. This process creates a thick syrup that retains the colors and flavors of the original produce.
They are often used in food and beverages as a natural coloring or flavoring agent, tapping into the perception of 'natural' over synthetic additives. There isn’t substantial health evidence against them, as they are derived from whole foods, though they are more concentrated in sugars than the original form.
When you see fruit and vegetable juice concentrate on a label, it often suggests the product aims to enhance natural flavors and appearances without synthetic additives.
