Lay's Classic
Summary
Lay's Classic scores 12/100. The simplest ingredient list of any mainstream chip — just 3 ingredients: potatoes, vegetable oil (canola, corn, soybean, and/or sunflower oil), and salt. No artificial flavors, no artificial preservatives, no MSG. However, the quad seed oil blend is the entire problem. Four inflammatory, highly refined seed oils high in omega-6 fatty acids are the primary fat source. The simplicity is commendable compared to Takis or Ruffles, but frying potatoes in seed oils still makes this a NOVA 4 product with significant inflammatory potential. Owned by Frito-Lay/PepsiCo.
