Squalane is the saturated form of squalene, identical to a major component of human sebum, making it exceptionally biocompatible: non-comedogenic, deeply moisturizing, antioxidant, and stable. No water, no preservative, no fragrance, no chelator — just the active. The minor caveat is that converting olive squalene to squalane requires hydrogenation (a processing step), which is why this scores 92 instead of 95–100 (raw plant oils).
