Dole Apple Juice No Sugar Added 100% Juice

Apple juice from concentrate retains most of the natural nutrients and antioxidants found in fresh apples. The concentration process involves removing water, which can slightly reduce vitamin content but preserves the juice for longer storage. It provides natural sugars and vitamins like vitamin C, contributing to overall health.

Ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C, is added to prevent oxidation and maintain the color and freshness of the juice. It is an essential nutrient that supports immune function and acts as an antioxidant. The addition of vitamin C can enhance the nutritional profile of the juice.

Filtered water is used to reconstitute the juice concentrate, ensuring a clean and safe product. It does not add any nutritional value but is essential for achieving the desired consistency and taste. The filtration process removes impurities and potential contaminants.

Malic acid is a naturally occurring acid found in apples and other fruits, used to enhance flavor and acidity. It is generally recognized as safe and contributes to the tartness of the juice. It is often used in food processing to balance sweetness and improve taste.

Natural flavors are added to enhance the taste of the juice but can be derived from various sources, making their exact composition unclear. They are processed additives that may not provide any nutritional benefits. The lack of transparency in their sourcing can be a concern for consumers seeking clean labels.
