Olive oil is a fruit oil, not an industrial seed oil, so no seed-oil penalty applies. PURITY: Light Labs (LC-MS/MS) found glyphosate and its breakdown product AMPA NOT DETECTED, below a 9.9 ppb limit of quantitation. POTENCY: phenolic analysis at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Magiatis method, World Olive Center for Health) measured 917 mg/kg total polyphenols — oleocanthal at 221 mg/kg and oleacein at 134 mg/kg, both well above the 135 and 105 mg/kg averages from the UC Davis international study. At 20 g per day that delivers 18.34 mg of hydroxytyrosol, tyrosol and their derivatives, roughly 3.7x the >5 mg threshold EU Regulation 432/2012 sets for the claim that olive oil polyphenols protect blood lipids from oxidative stress. Oleocanthal and oleacein specifically carry anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardioprotective and neuroprotective activity.
